  1. I went to the meeting last night, and I'm very unconvinced that the company doing the Feasability Study has the right experience to thoroughly give options as to renovating our historic buildings. Also, the company said that they are hoping that they will be considered for the job if the district moves forward with either a new build or a remodel. A Public Policy Report published by the National Trust Forum of the National Trust for Historic Preservation states that, "Feasability studies for the continued use of older schools shold be undertaken by architects who are knowledgeable about historic buildings. Individuals involved in preparing the studies would be ineligible to bid on the project. Cost estimates for any new building should be prepared by architects with experience in new school construction. They too should be disqualified from further work on the project to assure impartiality." From what I heard last night, I believe the school board has chosen a company with lots of experience in new builds and very little experience in historic preservation. Makes me think that maybe we're not hearing the whole story?
